Q. I been looking at photos of Farrah Fawcett lately and I really liked her hairstyle. It's a pain in a rear to style my hair since I have rather long, wavy and slightly curly hair. A. It's Yes and No. Because they are 'public figures', the standard for slander and libel is different than for ordinary citizens so that may impact how and if they could succeed. The standards loosen when papers are lying about public figures as opposed to private citizens. Farrah should definitely sue. The National Enquirer was involved in a conspiracy to obtain private medical records by paying off the UCLA employee. The problem here is the UCLA employee can't be a witness as she has succumbed to cancer. But, I wish the California Attorney General's office or LA County District Attorney would open up criminal charges against the National Enquirer and/or members of the staff. Patrick may have a case as well.
