Who discovered that the DNA structure of the human body was a double helix and when?
Q. I'm looking for Who discovered it? What clarified their findings? When they discovered it? Where they discovered it? How they arrived at the conclusion that the DNA of the human body was in a double helix structure? and last but not least...Why could they not be wrong in their findings? or were their findings just unproven theoretical computations that someone pushed forward to fill in the blank questionable areas in science that man had no answers for? I ask these questions because I have a theory that expands the possibilities of the human dna...instead of a double helix DNA...that it might be a triple helix DNA... If you have any questions about why I think that there is a possibility of a Triple Helix... instead of a Double Helix...wri [cont.]

A. Many were working on discovering exactly what the DNA Structure was. At first, two men by the name of Watson and Crick were credited and even given the Nobel Prize for supposedly discovering the double helix. In reality, it was later credited, a woman by the name of Rosalind Franklin had originally discovered the double helix and was given credit. Her two collegues (Watson and Crick) had stolen her idea, so to speak. Watson and Crick published their finding April 25, 1953. To find the double helix model, the used x-ray crystallography data and the data produced by Rosalind Franklin.

A. Post your pictures on every site you can, Submit to Nature magazines. Ask if you can do a photo essay as a 14 year old. Remember Post cards, calenders all use Photographs. The main thing is do not put the Camera down and maybe try doing the same subject at different times, seasons, weather, sky /lighting conditions to broaden your scope. The view very early morning in winter is very different to sunset in spring or with sun shafts on a cloudy day.

After the Spaniards left, the population of the Native Americans drastically declined. Who discovered that kinetic energy is created when rotating your hips when you punch?
Q. Boxers rotate their hips a.k.a. "put their body behind their punches" when they punch. As a result the punch is a lot stronger than if you were to just swing your arms. Who discovered this? A human being instinctively just swing their arm wildly when in a fight so someone must have discovered this unnaturally movement. Correction: Energy is not created but taken from the ground when in a stance and rotating the body when punching. Also, I doubt that caveman were smart enough to figure this out.

What all animals have been discovered from the depths of the ocean?
Q. Deep down in the ocean, where it is extremely dark, are there any animals? Have any been discovered?
Asked by MissRandyOrton - Fri Aug 29 15:40:19 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. the deepest animals which have been found tend to be invertebrates, like copepods and squid, which are ound even at the very deepest points in the ocean (around 10,000 meters). fish are not generally found in the very deepest parts of the ocean, but this could be due to lack of sampling and low numbers of fish. the deepest recorded fish is the abyssobrotula galathea, but whether this is actually the deepest is under huge debate as it was caught in an open top trawl. I'm going on a scientific cruise in 3 weeks to try and find the deepest fish :) I'll let you know when i get back!

What is a way to get discovered without an agent?
Q. When you don't have money and live in Minnesota. I really need information. I am only eleven and I cant really get out some where else. I know acting isn't the only thing in the world but I love it and I want to be discovered.

A. The best advice that I can give you is to do as much acting as you can, whether in school plays, local and community theaters. I know that any actor's dream (no matter what their age) is to be discovered but this rarely happens. I don't say this to discourage you at all, just so that you'll have some more realistic goals. Most all of the big actors, on stage and on screen, had to work their way up and learn to fine tune their craft and get pointers from those who are more experienced; it's all part of the acting trade. I think it's wonderful that you love acting so much. It's a great outlet and a good way to increase confidence and speaking skills. Keep doing it and who knows what may happen some day? Also, be very careful of any adults… [cont.]

Q. Im 14 years old and I lave acting and being in front of the camera.. I really want to be discovered. Is there anyway to do this w/o an agent..or do I need one?
Asked by PinkDiamonds - Sun Mar 8 21:07:36 2009 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. You won't be able to find a legitimate agent until you're already an actor, so the best thing you could do is get involved with local theater. Virtually all the actors you see on television and in movies started out in theater, since it's the best place to learn the craft of acting, gain experience, and network with other actors. Most stories about people being "discovered" are fiction, since casting agents have no shortage of professionals to choose from when they're hiring actors. Contact a local theater and inquire about classes. If you demonstrate that you're serious about acting, rather than becoming a star, theaters will seriously consider you for roles. Once you've appeared in a few productions, you'll have the resume you need… [cont.]

Q. If you discovered an ore deposit containing copper, what other elements might you also expect to find in the ore and why?
Asked by jessicaperelli - Wed Jul 2 17:44:19 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. If you discovered ore deposit containing copper, the other elements you may also expect to find are sulpher and oxygen. Copper can be found as native copper in mineral form. Minerals such as the sulfides: chalcopyrite (CuFeS2), bornite (Cu5FeS4), covellite (CuS), chalcocite (Cu2S) are sources of copper, as are the carbonates: azurite (Cu3(CO3)2(OH)2) and malachite (Cu2CO3(OH)2) and the oxide: cuprite (Cu2O). The reason to have these elements in the copper ore is that the ore must be in a very stable solid form, such that the solubility is extremely small. Indeed, the Ksp values of copper compounds are: Ksp for CuS: 6x10^-37, Ksp for Cu(OH)2: 4.8x10^-20 Ksp for CuCO3: 2.3x10^-10

A. Get yourself a website and post your songs there. Get a myspace page and post your works there. Have a friend video you singing and post the video to youtube. In each case put links between each site and the other two. This will create cross traffic and allow Google to rank your page higher. Then start making friends on each site. This will get your pages more traffic. Considering that you can contact just about anyone via 6 degrees of separation, if you're any good, you'll eventually be seen.

How was Pompeii accidently discovered in 1748 and by whom?
Q. After Italy's Mount Vesuvius buried Pompeii, the city wasn't rediscovered untill 1748. I was curious as to how it was discovered. Was it stumbled upon by some kids? Were there clues and someone went looking?
Asked by Nikita (Australian) - Wed Jul 23 20:36:04 2008 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It was discovered by workers who were digging the foundation for a palace for Charles III of Naples. There were some clues as to the location of the city from the writings of Pliny the Younger who described the destruction, but attempts to find the city had failed. It was only found by accident. I don't know who was the very first to find the city, probably some workman forgotten by history, but the excavation was led by Karl Weber, a Swiss engineer. Charles III payed for and supported the excavations, but they were generally poorly done and many artifacts were plundered as treasure, while Charles seemed to be most interested in getting artifacts to decorate his palace with. A lot was probably lost thanks to those first excavations.

A. "Getting discovered" is something that can happen for one aspiring singer in ten thousand on shows like Idol, Nashville Star, etc. so it's no sure thing path. Instead of relying on luck and the planets lining up properly, think of it as "career building". Take voice lessons, save your pennies and go to a quality recording studio, make a good 3 song demo and use that on your myspace page and to attract good quality musicians. Even in a small town surely there must be a guitarist and a drummer looking for a singer. Above all start performing regularly even it means dragging a small karake setup to a local mall or local bar and performing for free. Capture e-mail addresses of fans and mail a little newsletter out so they know where… [cont.]

What would you do if you discovered your daughter was working in the sex industry?
Q. My brother recently discovered one of his stepdaughters 18yr old friends , both are seniors in high school, was working as a dancer in a recently opened gentlemens club. His stepdaughters boyfriend's, friends went to the club and saw her. With the influx of strip clubs in our area more young women are turning to these places for quick cash and a way to move out on their own as soon as they turn 18, most of these young women have been having problems at home or school. As far as we know her parents do not know, she lives with a roomate on her own so we do not know how much contact she has with them. As every young woman dancing in these clubs or acting in sex films are someones daughter, how would you react if it was one of your daughter/son [cont.]

A. I would be very upset and hurt, but with them being 18 there's not much you can really do or say except that its their decision and if its what they want then ok. Reason why I say this is because if you tell them No they can't do that they will move out and do it, if they are already moved out they will no longer talk to you stating they are 18 and they will do as they please. So either way you go your going to left behind. So support them on their decision. That doesn't mean you have to agree with it.

Has there ever been any planets discovered that are similar to Earth?
Q. Has any planets been discovered that are similar to Earth? As in, having water and plant life etc or is Earth the only known planet like that? I know the question may have seemed like a stupid one, but I have read in the past, I think mostly in tabloid newspapers, that such planets have been discovered. I would sometimes think to myself that if these planets had bee discovered, then they would probably be famous. So I thought I would ask the question on Yahoo Answers to see if such planets have really been discovered.
