How do you start a successful business out of your home? I want to sell my work, all forms of arts & crafts?
Q. I am a fitness instructor, I coordinate a club. I am also a very busy softball Mom and wife. I need to be home early and late, and at my club various times through-out the day (on call), but I also need to make money. I have many talents, I have many ideas, I am very intimadated with the whole approach thing. "Here's my stuff, wanna buy it?" I just don't know how to get started. I've been putting this off for years. I know I am wasting my talent. Any advice?

A. The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in. I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box. Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links. Research, research, research this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant: * Start Your Own Crafts Business (E [cont.]
